'Bless the Bride'
A selection of wedding dresses from the museums collection.

Not all wedding dresses are white.  Colours and styles have changed over the years.  Queen Victoria designed her own white dress; white rapidly became the colour of choice for this most important of occasions.
During the depression and war years women married in their 'Sunday Best'.  Fabric was rationed and coupons shared out.
Also on display, wedding photographs.  We are interested in photos from the 1960s, 70s and 80s. Please email your images to anita@bakewellhistory.com.
