Bakewell Gems Trail

Trail Description (1.7Mb pdf)

This trail starts at the Bakewell Visitor Centre.  This trail, devised for the Bakewell Partnership, gives more information about some and visits some less well – known sites.

The trail is about a mile (1.6 km.) long and takes about one hour plus time spent in the museum and church. Bakewell being a hillside town, part of this trail is steep in places so is not suitable for wheelchairs. To miss the steep part, instead of going Up-The-Chimney at point 5 turn left along Buxton Road; go past the front of the Rutland Arms Hotel and turn right up King Street; join the trail again at point 12, the Old Town Hall.
