Accessibility
Getting to the museum: the museum is reached from the town centre by a rather steep (but short) uphill walk. Some visitors may feel more comfortable taking the public bus, details of which are available on our Directions page.

Parking: we have limited parking space outside the museum, reserved for Blue Badge holders.  

If you have mobility problems or are bringing a group of learning difficulties visitors,  please call us to reserve a car park space. Please note that the car park can only accomodate a small mini bus.

Inside the museum:
 portable wheelchair ramps availabe on request.

The building is very old, so we advise visitors to take care on the uneven floors and ight levels are low.  
The ground floor has a number of steps, some rooms are accessible to wheelchair users. Unfortunately, the upper floor is not accessible to wheelchair users.  
Handling collection available on request.

Courtyard: Is wheelchair accessible and the public toilet is suitable for wheelchair users.  There are baby changing facilities in the public toilet which is large enough as a changing space.

Guide dogs: are welcome.
